Sabin Subedi

I am a PhD Student in Economics at the University of Strathclyde, specializing in applied microeconomics and development economics. I use quasi-experimental methods—particularly difference-in-differences and regression discontinuity designs—to evaluate development programs and policy interventions in low- and middle-income countries.

My recent work focuses on understanding how public health insurance affects health service utilization and equity in lower-middle-income contexts. I study the distributional impacts of policy, examining who benefits from interventions and why—particularly how programs affect vulnerable populations differently. Beyond health, I’m interested in how remittances, migration, and education decisions interact with economic shocks in developing economies.

I combine rigorous causal inference with policy relevance, aiming to generate evidence that informs real-world development decisions. I’m also an active writer on econometric methods and research design, sharing insights on causal inference through my Substack newsletter.
